About
ACI forecast that by 2040, global air passenger traffic will be doubled that of 2019, driven largely by Asia-Pacific’s 5.8% annual growth rate over the next two decades. The fast pace of growth necessitates substantial airport infrastructure investments. It is estimated that a global investment of US$ 2.4 trillion will be in the next twenty years, with Asia-Pacific alone requiring US$ 1.3 trillion, including US$ 579 billion earmarked for greenfield (brand-new) airport development. This underscores the urgency for strategic master planning for the next wave of growth, ensuring our hubs are competitive in an ever-evolving industry landscape.
In this session, representatives from two major greenfield airport development projects in Asia-Pacific will share their visions for future growth in demand for air travel and the imperative to invest in airport infrastructure.
