About the Speaker

Abd Hasman is the General Manager of Operations at Kuala Lumpur International Airport's Terminal 1. He oversees critical departments, including the Airport Operations Control Center, Flight Operations Center, Terminal Services Division, Customer Experience Management, and Operations Management. Since beginning his career in airport operations in 2004, his extensive experience has made him well-versed in the field. His role demands a deep understanding of all airport functions, from passenger flow and security protocols to operational efficiency.

In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of KLIA's Terminal 1, he develops strategies to enhance both operational efficiency and the passenger experience. He was recognized as an Airport International Professional (AIP) in 2010. His leadership has fostered a collaborative environment, empowering his teams to deliver exceptional service and maintain the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

He is a strong advocate for innovation, constantly seeking new technologies and processes to optimize airport operations and improve the traveler journey. He also plays a key role in developing and implementing Airport Collaborative Decision Making (ACDM) at KLIA, having been the project champion in its planning, development, and implementation.

Airspace and Airport Capacity

The air traffic is expected to increase in the coming years, hence the initiative of Next Generation Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) to be implemented for the Asia Pacific region with an objective of having a seamless cross-border arrangement highlighted at ICAO. Through seamless cross-border arrangement, it is anticipated routing in the sky to be seamless, leading to better airlines flight time and frequency and increase of airport capacity. The session is all about sharing the aspirations of the airlines, airport and air traffic controller anticipating this initiative to materialize.
